Frequently Asked Questions
Short answer- yes! Long answer- Vox Veritatis utilizes a variety of teaching methods in order to include everyone in the process of making music. Traditional scores are available, but we will also utilize learning track so you can listen and learn by ear. If you need extra assistance, our directors will work with you individually, or pair you with someone else in the choir who has a little more experience to help you out. Each voice part has section leaders who can assist you in rehearsal, or ask questions on your behalf as needed.
We perform a dynamic mix of music styles, with a special emphasis on prioritizing women, living composers, and composers of color. Our repertoire spans classical, jazz, and pop genres, often presenting a diverse range within a single performance. Beyond the music itself, our group is dedicated to fostering a sense of community, family, and purpose. We actively commission new works from underrepresented groups and local composers, ensuring that our performances not only entertain but also contribute to a richer, more inclusive and rich cultural tapestry.
Vox has regular rehearsals Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm at various locations around beautiful Cincinnati! These rehearsals are for Vox Veritatis members only.

Yes, we really do! As part of our efforts to be accessible and inclusive to all, we remove the barrier of participation for parents through affordable childcare. One of our founders is a single working parent and knows just how isolating being a parent can feel.
All members of Vox Veritatis are welcome to utilize our childcare services during rehearsal, regardless of what level of dues they pay. Just be sure to let us know you need it when you register!
Economic accessibility is key part of our Access, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategic plan. Our varying levels of dues are structured to allow anyone who wants to participate access to a musical experience. Did you just lose your job? Are you paying off debt? We don't believe these things should prevent you from socializing and being a part of your community.
All members have access to all benefits of membership, regardless of the level of dues they pay. See the Vox Veritatis Sliding Dues Chart below:
Equitable Rate | $25(~$2.50 per rehearsal) | |
Standard Rate | $50(~$5.00 per rehearsal) | |
Community Support Rate | $75 (~$7.50 per rehearsal) | Support purchasing of music for singers for whom dues may be a hardship |
Sponsorship Rate | $100+ | Support the ongoing administration of the organization and paying our staff a fair wage for their services. |
Short answer: No! We want you to sing whatever part if comfortable for YOUR voice!
Long Answer: Vox is an inclusive organization, and we explicitly welcome and support LGBTQ+ individuals. Our Artistic Director, Dan, specialized in teaching transgender voices and voices in transition, so we recognize the changing vocal needs of individuals. We have women in our choir who can finally sing Tenor, after being told by directors all their lives that they can't. We have gender non-conforming individuals who switch sections depending on the song, or season, to fully exercise their vocal abilities. We want you to enjoy singing and be comfortable doing it.
